kgreene829 Posted July 30, 2024 Posted July 30, 2024 On July 29th at 9:46 PM breaking news came out about Paul McCullers-Sanders future in football. The redshirt sophomore QB for Tulane said that the recent hate has started to become too much for him and after this season he will make have to make a decision on his future in the sport. Paul was quoted saying “all the hate… I just can’t do it anymore. The haters win I will finish this season but after that I might not come back”. This comes after another season where Tulane was unable to live up to the expectations they had set for themselves and clearly the young QB has not taken it lightly. Paul will reportedly be taking a darkness retreat and will be coming out just hours before their 2024 bowl game. Tulane coach Kgreene829 told our reporters "I respect Paul and his decision I will be looking into fringe starting QBs in the transfer portal just in case but until he says otherwise PMS is the starting QB for Tulane" he then followed it up by saying "And you can quote me on that" immediately when the decision came out. After some time he reached out to us talking to us a little more after having some time to sit and think about what comes next. Kgreene wanted to answer question we previously had about what is in store for the next two weeks and beyond in the wake of this news. "Nothing has changed with the team we will prepare as we always have senior Gimel Kopech and redshirt freshman Igor Peters will split 1st team reps and freshman Quy Wilbur be with the 2nd team. I am going to walk back my commitment to bring in a fringe starting QB in the transfer portal because I want to give Igor Peters a chance to be that guy for us. I had made the commitment without giving it much thought and I think it is unfair to the guys we have brought in to be the backups. With that said Igor, Quy, or even Joseph White will have to earn the right to be that fringe break glass in case of emergency guy because of all the talented QBs that we expect to enter their names in the portal. Maybe this is not their ideal destination but Mark Koch and Kelly Jarwin are great QBs who have already thrown their name into the portal and would be players we would be happy to have. Paul has given so much to this school and that is evident in him being 1st in almost every career QB record and being 1st or 2nd in all but 1 season QB record he just had the best QB season in Tulane history by in terms of passing yards and TDs per pass attempt and is knocking on the door of the best completion percentage in a season in Tulane history. We owe a lot to Paul and he has earned the right to step away for as long as he needs too." As of now it is unknown who Tulane will face in their bowl game and which bowl it will be but those are no longer the biggest questions for this team we will continue to keep you updated as this story develops more. 1 1
