The Idaho Vandals and Jackson State will now be properly facing each other in the upcoming 2024 season.

In the previous season, the teams were slated to face each other; however, due to confusion and mismanagement from both team's Athletic Departments and due to travel confusion, neither team faced each other.

"We couldn't find a proper time to play last season, and we ended up having one of our other out-of-conference matchups confused with Jacksonville State", Jackson State head coach Deeyon Sanderson said in a pre-season press conference earlier this season. "We hate those Vandals and I'm excited to finally face off against them."

The Tigers are expected to travel by bus to the Kibbie Dome located in Moscow, Idaho. Because of last season's mishap, they are looking to save funds by traveling cross country for a couple of days from Mississippi to Idaho. The student-athletes were able to find accommodations for their classes and will be able to attend remotely. It is expected that the Vandals will face the Tigers on the road next season in Jackson, Mississippi.

Jacksonville State's athletic director has yet to comment on the mishap. They ended up playing Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona last season despite being an FBS team.
