Bundy Posted July 12, 2022 Posted July 12, 2022 Large Dozen The Big 12's Weekly Recap Show #9 Texas State 20, #8 Baylor 3 Baylor struggled to generate offense through the air, having to depend almost entirely on the ground game to move the ball. QB Travis Knebel struggled mightily, and continued lack of performance might see coach @Vivid send him down the depth chart. Playing a Top 10 team on the road is always grounds for a rough debut, but for a team with championship aspirations, Knebel simply might not be ready to be a complete part of the offense. He certainly can run the ball, though. #4 Oklahoma 40, #13 Tulsa 13 Oklahoma has had talent and potential the last two years - but not a worthy coach until now. Coach @ChicagoTed1 has his squad off to an impressive start, and unlike Baylor, having a new signal caller still has Oklahoma gunning for a Natty. The offense looks potent, and the defense did its job. Big 12 Large Dozen of the Week Congratulations to the inaugural selections for "Big 12 Large Dozen of the Week." Every week, 12 players conference-wide will be highlighted for their top performances. 12. ILB Wilking Madrigal, Oklahoma: 7 tackles, 2 TFL 11. QB Travis Knebel, Baylor (as a runner): 14 carries, 125 yards, 8.93 avg 5. WR Justin Neary, Oklahoma: 8 receptions on 11 targets, 124 yards 4. WR Tim McRae, Oklahoma: 7 receptions on 11 targets, 86 yards, 2 TD 3. ILB Antwaun Vaccaro, Baylor: 14 tackles, 4 TFL 2. RB Mat Moore, Oklahoma: 27 carries, 141 yards, 5.22 avg 1. QB Pace Frandsen, Oklahoma: 32/45 (71.11%) 332 yards (7.38 avg) 4 TD, 0 INT Draft Stock Report ILB Antwuan Vaccaro, Baylor Despite Baylor's loss, Vaccaro showed an impressive knack at getting to the ball carrier, and the Jehu Ginn pedigree lives on. QB Pace Frandsen, Oklahoma Frandsen shredded Tulsa at a Heisman pace, and while its too early to declare him the "real deal", this performance alone could place him in the mid rounds. Repeated success would send him higher. RB Dietrich Smith, Baylor Smith is going to need to finish strong over the last 11 games if he wants to go before the late rounds. He was unimpressive last year in efficiency (3.86 avg over 275 carries) and he's started worse this year. Unless he has an off the charts combine, or becomes a concerning reach, he'll need to prove that its the scheme holding him back - but a run heavy scheme proving tough for a Power RB spells disaster. 4
