Ohio 31-20 Best performance of the week: Ball State def. Central Michigan 23-19 Ball State has done a good job of figuring out the best way to use RB Anthony Fisher, who didn't have a great game on the ground with just 82 yards and a fumble on 27 carries, but he had another 100 yard game receiving with 102 yards and 2 TDs on 8 catches. Ball State's defense was able to get 2 interceptions to make up for giving up more total yards than their offense had. The Cardinals' K Cody Escalona comes away the big man on campus going 3-3 on FGs in the 4 point win. Worst performance of the week: Northern Illinois def. Western Michigan 13-7 Western Michigan QB Theo Scribner didn't have a bad game from looking at his statistics, 25-39 226 yards 1 TD, but his 2 interceptions proved to be costly as the Broncos were held scoreless through the first 3 quarters. Add to that just 47 yards on 19 carries on the ground and Scribner being sacked 3 times and you see Northern Illinois' defense had Western Michigan's number this week. It's all still there for the taking for Central Michigan as both teams take on nonconference foes this coming week and then play each other in their last game of the season in week 13. Ball State's nonconference schedule has come back to bite them a bit and eliminated their bowl hopes with losses to 4 good teams in Cal, Kansas, Purdue and Old Dominion. Toledo will look to limit the damage this week in their game against Akron. Akron still holds the advantage after beating Ohio in their head-to-head matchup in week 5. The Zips will be a huge favorite in their matchup against Toledo coming up while Ohio has a tricky game against Bowling Green, who has outscored their last 2 opponents 78-23. 4

This turned out to be a murder's row. No one really knew when we did scheduling, but damn that has got to hurt. Ball State actually seems like a decent MAC team that probably had one of hardest schedules on Earth. 2
PoopyRhinoPickle Posted September 13, 2021 Author Posted September 13, 2021 Yep, this. Certainly one of the hardest noncon schedules. I think if they schedule 2-3 average teams we’d be looking at a 5 win team right now. 1
subsequent Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Astronomical SOS... That's like three top 10 teams and a top 25 team. 1
