    Broncos Sign QB Tyrod Taylor

The Broncos appear to have their starting QB for 2018.

Denver bring in former Bills QB Taylor

Denver new as soon as he was released by Buffalo that Tyrod Taylor was the quarterback they wanted to take a chance on him.

The Broncos struggled with having consistency from their quarterbacks, turnovers being the key issue with Trevor Siemian, Brock Osweiler, and Paxton Lynch. Taylor has been one of the most consistent quarterbacks since 2015 and has kept turnovers to a minimum. No doubt he would thrive in a west coast offense commandeered by Alex Van Pelt that would rely more on the run game than for a quarterback to throw the ball 30+ times.

Tyrod Taylor's deal is over two years with a team option for a third worth $13.20M and a signing bonus worth $2.5M. It is not as lucrative as his extension with the Bills that was re-negotiated, but it is a solid prove it deal for Taylor to play through in Denver. However, it would still seem that the team plans to take a quarterback early in the draft.

Taylor finished the 2017 season with 2,799 yards, 14 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions.

Colin Kaepernick Returns to the NFL

Dirk Koetter and the Buccaneers are taking a flyer on Kaepernick.

Tamp Bay brings in Kaep as back-up.

After a couple of years of controversy, the unofficial banishment of Colin Kaepernick has finally ended. Jason Licht and Dirk Koetter broke the ice so to say and signed on embattled quarterback Colin Kaepernick to back up Jameis Winston.

"We know he is beyond talented," said head coach Koetter. "Someone we can trust if we need him. Anything else is unimportant."

Kaepernick's deal is for one year worth about $4M. He has declined to speak to the press at this point, but it is suspected that he will no longer continue his social protest within the confines of the game.

Nice to see Tyrod get a fresh start, but he's going to need that mobility behind that o-line. Lots of interesting options in the first round now, including trading for picks.

Draft order is gonna end up being a little different than it should, but it should be pretty decent.

    NFL Draft Round 1

    1. CLEVELAND BROWNS SELECT HB SAQUON BARKLEY, PENN STATE - After picking up A.J. McCarron, the Browns likely will not draft a QB in the first round. So, with the top pick in the draft, they grab the best player in tailback Saquon Barkley out of Penn State.

    2. NEW YORK GIANTS SELECT QB JOSH ROSEN, UCLA - Giants go Rosen over Darnold to be the heir to Eli Manning. With Manning still on the roster, it isn't really known if Rosen will see action this season. He's a premier pocket passer with the acuity to perform in the big games. His biggest knock is his personality, reportedly being unlikable in the locker room with a sense of entitlement.

    3. CLEVELAND BROWNS (from HOUSTON) SELECT DB MINKA FITZPATRICK, ALABAMA - This time the Browns take the best defensive player on the board, Alabama's freak athlete Minka Fitzpatrick. Safety or corner, the Browns will be able to utilize Fitzpatrick immediately this season.

    4. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS SELECT DE BRADLEY CHUBB, NC STATE - Chubb out of NC State is the next elite pass rusher, sure to be an essential building block for the Colts defense.

    5. CHICAGO BEARS SELECT DL CHRISTIAN WILKINS, CLEMSON - A very solid pass rusher with the talent to develop into an excellent run stopper as well. Bears get a major piece for their defense.

    6. NEW YORK JETS SELECT QB SAM DARNOLD, USC - With Rosen already off the board, the Jets select their new QB of the future in Sam Darnold. Darnold will join a competition for the starting job against last year's success story Josh McCown, raw 2016 2nd round pick Christian Hackenberg, and former Broncos starting QB Trevor Siemian.

    7. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS SELECT LB ARDEN KEY, LSU - The Buccaneers are aging at defensive end and need a solid pass rushing option to slow down Cam Newton, Matt Ryan, and Drew Brees.

    8. BUFFALO BILLS (from DENVER) SELECT QB JOSH ALLEN, WYOMING - The Bills cast Tyrod Taylor and traded for stop-gap veteran QB Alex Smith. Now they have traded up on draft day with the Broncos to select Josh Allen. This is a great situation for the Wyoming product to sit, wait, and develop to be Buffalo's QB of the future.

    9. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS SELECT OL QUENTON NELSON, NORTE DAME - Upgrading the protection in San Francisco is a must to keep Jimmy Garoppolo on his feet. Nelson is more than likely the best lineman on the board.

    10. MIAMI DOLPHINS SELECT WR CALVIN RIDLEY, ALABAMA - Losing Jarvis Landry left a major role in the offense, and now Adam Gase hopes Calvin Ridley out of Alabama will be just what Ryan Tannehill needs to get back on track.

    11. OAKLAND RAIDERS SELECT DB TARVARUS MCFADDEN, FSU
    12. WASHINGTON REDSKINS SELECT QB LAMAR JACKSON, LOUISVILLE
    13. CINCINNATI BENGALS SELECT OL MIKE MCGLINCHEY, NORTE DAME

    15. ARIZONA CARDINALS SELECT OL ORLANDO BROWN, JR., OKLAHOMA
    16. DALLAS COWBOYS SELECT OL TREY ADAMS, WASHINGTON

Broncos Trade Down, Select OSU Lineman Billy Price

Broncos select Billy Price at pick 21.

Broncos Shore up o-line with Price
The Broncos traded down from the 8th overall position with the Buffalo Bills so that they can select QB Josh Allen. The Broncos received the Bills' 1st, 2nd, and 5th round picks for the spot, and with the 21st overall pick selected Ohio State's Billy Price.

Price is a versatile lineman, able to play tackle, guard, and center. His fluidity on the line makes him a great addition to the Broncos that struggled to protect the QB last season.
