    NBA Awards 2017

The first ever NBA Awards show just ended.

    MVP - Russell Westbrook
    DPOTY - Draymond Green
    6MOTY - Eric Gordon
ROTY - Malcolm Brogdon (a 2nd round pick, how awesome)
    MIP - Giannis Antetokounmpo
    COTY - Mike D'antoni, Rockets

Overall, I kind of liked it. It allowed each recipient a chance to give their speech on the stage that everyone will hear. I normally dislike Drake and did tonight as well but some of his jokes were funny. The TNT guys shared a lot of camera time as well.

It's an interesting direction to go in for an actual rewards show. I need to see it again next year before I'm sold on if they should keep it or abandon it.

Any thoughts? About the winners or overall ceremony?

I also think Booker was robbed for performance of the year. 70 points by a 2nd year player. Cmon.

    About Skal Labissiere...
Xixak : he will be a top 5 player from this class

That's a very good point about Booker's 70, somehow forgot about that.

I like it, I didn't watch any of it live but like you said I like that each guy gets a proper celebration and speech, like other sports do.

I thought it was cool man. But next year they should just have a week or two break before the playoffs and do it then.

I don't think Booker was robbed. Phoenix was running up the score, fouling to stop the clock in a blowout loss. Klay's points came in the flow of the game and he also scored 60 in less than 30 minutes which is a lot more impressive.

My Pacers made a lot of highlights too. Klay's 60 came on Indy as well as GS's assist of the year and Jokic's nomination for assist of the year.

I didn't watch the Booker performance so just seeing 70 to me is enough. They said Klay took 11 dribbles. :0

This got me ... cause they're on the receiving end of big plays.

From what I saw, really liked the awards show. My biggest problem is how far apart from the reg season it was.

They wouldn't want to do it before the playoffs. Players will want to (hopefully) focus up and mentally prepare. No one, in my belief, will want to be in the same room, joking around and having a good time, with guys they're about to go to war against. That's my two cents.

It's a good event to have, I enjoyed what I saw of it.
