Thanks, Rob, it was a great way to start the season.

Thanks, VA. I was really satisfied with the way the team played. It doesn't hurt having Porcello on the mound as well.

Thanks, @Count. I am actually just doing default All-Star. I'm not going to chase slideritis this year. I'm going to play the game the way I want to and hope for the best. Baseball usually has a way of evening itself out as well, so I am not too worried about statistics. If I find them a little off I can raise or lower the difficulty in whatever setting.

How about yourself? Are you using sliders?

Ivan Nova Pitches Complete Game Shut Out
Red Sox are Held to Only 4 Hits After Last Game's Offensive Display

Two days after an embarrassing Opening Day loss, Ivan Nova and the Pittsburgh Pirates looked to make the series an even 1-1. Fueled by a great pitching performance from Nova and some clutch hitting in the 3rd inning, the Pirates held off the Red Sox for a 3-0 victory.

The Red Sox struggled from the plate against Ivan Nova, a former Yankee pitcher. Despite not striking out much, the Red Sox struggled to go deep in the count and had an excess of routine outs. Dustin Pedroia got half of the Red Sox hits by going 2-4 with a double into the gap between center and right field. However, the Red Sox were unable to convert any base runners into runs.

On the mound, things started off very well for Chris Sale. He struck out the first 5 batters he faced and retired the first 7 batters he faced. In the third inning he gave up 4 consecutive hits and that was enough to tag him for 3 runs. He wasn't dismayed after that because he then strung together 4 more consecutive strikeouts and then he strung together another 4 strikeouts ending in the 7th inning.

"It was a really strong game from Chris with a very significant miss step in the 3rd inning. However, he can't take all the blame because the offense failed to give him any support. Normally if you have a guy throw 13 strikeouts you can assume he got the win," Red Sox manager John Farrell said in a post game interview.

Ivan Nova was the star for the Pirates and the Player of the Game for his performance in his first start. Nova, a former pitcher for the Red Sox rivals the New York Yankees, pitched a complete game shut out only giving up 4 hits and striking out 6 batters to earn a win.

The Pirates and the Red Sox will face off tomorrow for the rubber match of the series. Boston will trot out knuckleball pitcher Steven Wright (13-6, 3.33 ERA in 2016) against Jameson Taillon (5-4, 3.38 ERA in 2016) for first pitch at 1:35 p.m. local time.

Bats went ice cold in that game. Hope you can develop a little more consistency in the early stages of the season.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, there will be some tough competition from them this year. I'm not looking forward to it.
