I'm interested in seeing where this goes. If you have success, how long you plan on staying at USF?

    Offensive Position Breakdown

    From: Coach Porell
    To: Coach Taggart

After working through spring practice, the spring football game and sever more practices I have had a chance to analyze each position and come up with a depth chart for each position. You will find the information below.

    -Quarterbacks
    Eveld
    Bench
    Floyd
    White

Eveld has proven to be the most talented quarterback on the roster and should be the starter. He is the most complete player. Bench has shown to be more accurate at times but has made some questionable positions. Floyd is a serviceable third option with less talent than either of the others. He is smart with the ball. White has the strongest arm but will need to improve accuracy. We would like to ask him to redshirt this season with the idea that he will compete for the starting job in 2014.

    -Halfbacks
    Shaw
    Pierre
    McCray
    Tice

Shaw is the most experienced and well-rounded player in the group, he is likely to get the most reps. We certainly expect Pierre to play a significant role as well. Though McCray and Tice are both true freshmen we expect they will both contribute as well.

    -Fullbacks
    Turner
    Sanchez

Though Turner is not overly skilled as a receiver his blocking skills have proven to be quite good. He is also a great short yardage rushing option. Sanchez could see the field at times.

    -Wide Receivers
    Davis
    Montgomery

    Dunkley
    Welch
    Duval
    Gonzalez
    Benjamin

We have a very talented group at wide receiver. Davis, Montgomery, Dunkley and Welch will all see significant playing time. When We spread the field Duval and Gonzalez will provide excellent depth. Benjamin does not fit into our plans this season and we suggest a redshirt year for him. Dunkley is our fastest receiver while Davis appears to be the most reliable target and best route runner.

    -Tight Ends
    Price
    McFarland

Though McFarland is the more experienced player Price has shown himself to be the better receiver and an adequate blocker. McFarland will be a solid #2 when we need the extra bulk on the field.

    -Offensive Linesmen
    LT Williams, Kaufman
    LG Martin, Hall
    C Reiter, Jozwiak
    RG Gudmundsson, Jacques, Threatt
    RT Eatmon, Lang

We have a fairly talented group along the offensive line. Williams and Reiter are the most well-rounded of the bunch and should be the leaders. Martin, Gudmundsson and Eatmon are all solid starters. Kaufman, Jozwiak and Lang are good backups. Jacques gives us a versatile, experienced option should we suffer any injuries. Hall and Threatt have potential for the future but we would suggest redshirt years for both of them in order to hone their skills and develop their bodies.

These are my observations and suggestions, I look forward to any insight you may have.
