Carter picks apart Plant as John Curtis rolls

    John Curtis 66, Plant 7

CODY CARTER CELEBRATES ONE OF HIS MANY TOUCHDOWN PASSES AGAINST PLANT

    River Ridge -
Once again John Curtis looked like a powerhouse as they rolled over Plant in an out of conference game. Plant made the trip all the way from Tampa, Florida only to get beaten down by a final score of 66-7.

John Curtis QB Cody Carter was unstoppable yet again as he threw for over 400 yards. Carter tossed 6 touchdown passes, four to his favorite receiver Thienn Nguyen.

Carter did throw an early pick across the middle on a throw that was disrupted but cleaned things up after that.

Alex Howell made the most of a dozen carries, picking up 136 yards and two scores in the blowout.

John Curtis sat the majority of their starters for the entire fourth quarter.

The Patriots will host East St. John next week. East St. John is currently 1-1.

John Curtis stays undefeated with blowout win over East St. John

John Curtis 49, East St. John 21

CODY CARTER LOOKS FOR A RECEIVER

    River Ridge -
So far this season yesterday's 28 point win over East St. John is as close as a game has been for John Curtis.

"We're trying to stay focused on the next game and it’s been tough with so many big wins." Coach J.T. Curtis said after the team's 49-21 win.

Cody Carter was the star again as East St. John couldn’t find a way to stop the Patriots vertical passing attack.

Carter finished with 440 yards and five touchdowns and added 61 yards rushing.

Thienn Nguyen once again was Carter's favorite target, catching seven passes for 196 yards and three scores.

Runningback Alex Howell carried the ball 17 times for 123 yards and a score.

John Curtis is now 3-0 and has outscored their opponents 166-45. Murmurs of a state championship have already begun.

Next week Cohen comes to town with a 2-1 record.

John Curtis blanks Cohen College Prep

John Curtis 54, Cohen College Prep 0

    CODY CARTER CELEBRATES A TOUCHDOWN

    River Ridge -
So far this season John Curtis quarterback Cody Carter has looked all but invincible. Yesterday he looked a little more human but still led his team to a 54-0 win over Cohen.

Carter threw two picks during the game as the Patriots' offensive line had a little trouble with the Cohen pass rush. Carter was able to bounce back from those early mistakes and finish up with three touchdown passes and two touchdown runs. Carter tallied 425 yards passing and 41 on the ground in the win.

Alex Howell picked up 136 yards and three scores on the ground.

John Curtis improves to 4-0 on the season and will battle 4-0 Riverside next week at home.

John Curtis keeps rolling, blanks Riverside

    John Curtis 42, Riverside 0

    CODY CARTER CELEBRATES A TOUCHDOWN

    River Ridge -
Riverside was supposed to be a challenge for John Curtis when they faced off last night in River Ridge. Both teams brought in 4-0 records and many were hoping it would be a good game.

    It wasn't.

Cody Carter threw for three touchdowns and Alex Howell added three more on the ground as the Patriots rolled to a 42-0 blowout win.

"Our defense has been incredible." Carter said after the game. "That's two shutouts in a row and when the defense is doing that it makes it that much easier to do our thing on offense."

Carter threw for 360 yards and three scores.

John Curtis improves to 5-0 and will travel to face 3-2 Carver next week.

    John Curtis does it again

    John Curtis 42, Carver 7

CODY CARTER SCORED TWICE ON THE GROUND

    New Orleans -
When John Curtis took on Carver last night the only real questions before the game were if John Curtis would score 50 and if Carver would score at all.

John Curtis scored 42 and Carver did score, once.

Cody Carter threw for three touchdowns and ran in two more in three quarters before taking his usual place on the sideline for the fourth quarter.

Alex Howell added the sixth score.

John Curtis has improved to 6-0 and will host a struggling Isadore Newman team that is 1-5 next week.

John Curtis has outscored their opponents 304-52 and their closest game so far was a 49-21 win over East St. John four weeks ago.

The Patriots have the best defense in the state and the best offense in the state along with the best quarterback in the state. Anything short of a state championship at this point would be a huge letdown.

"We're really trying to not think that far ahead." Coach Curtis said after the win. "Of course in the offseason that's what we talked about as a goal as a team. Once the season starts you've got to stay focused week to week. That can be tough to do with all the noise out there."

Cody Carter Decommits from USC: Schools to Watch for 5-Star QB
By Sanjay Kirpalani , National Recruiting Analyst
    Oct 8, 2012

USC’s 2013 class took a hit on Tuesday evening when 5-star quarterback Cody Carter announced that he decommitted from an early pledge to the Trojans.

The 6'5”, 230-pound passer had been a soft commit to the Trojans since September 2011.

Now, the John Curtis Christian (River Ridge, LA) product—who rates as the nation’s No. 3 "pro-style" quarterback and the No. 73 player overall in the 2013 class—is back on the market.

So far this season Carter has led John Curtis to a 6-0 record and has thrown for over 2,200 yards and 25 touchdowns. John Curtis is the current favorite to win the Louisiana state championship.

Carter has 9 offers to date, and he’s scheduled to make several visits over the next few weeks.

With Carter hitting the reset button on his recruitment, which programs are worth keeping an eye on as potential landing spots for the talented standout?

Let’s take a look at a few schools that have already laid the groundwork to become candidates to end up on his short list. Carter has visits scheduled with each of the following schools.

Stanford – Carter fits perfectly in the Stanford offense and with their recent success he would get immediate attention from NFL scouts. Carter would likely have to sit behind Hogan for a year, maybe two.

Oregon – Everyone loves Oregon lately though with Mariota already in the mix he would likely sit two years. Carter is a good runner despite being labeled a "pro-style" quarterback.

Auburn – Auburn already has some talent at quarterback but that doesn’t mean Carter couldn’t beat them out. Carter has said several times that he is a fan of Cam Newton so there's that connection.

Tennessee – Some close to the program say Carter could overtake Tennessee's current group of quarterbacks pretty easily and would be a good fit in their system.

Washington – This one's a bit of a surprise but Washington runs a very NFL friendly offense and with Keith Price finishing his career in 2013 Carter could start as a redshirt freshman.

Carter also has offers from SMU, Tulane and UNLV along with the still open over from USC. Carter has not scheduled visits with SMU, Tulane or UNLV.
