    J. Cole-Born Sinner

    1. Villuminati-4.0/5.0
    2. Kenny Sermon (Skit)-No Score
    3. Land of the Snakes-4.0/5.0
    4. Power Trip (Feat. Miguel)-4.25/5.0
-These two always make good songs together
    5. Mo Money (Interlude)-3.5/5.0
    6. Trouble-4.25/5.0
-The hook and background "church" chants set this song off
    7. Runaway-4.25/5.0
    8. She Knows (Feat. Amber Coffman)-4.0/5.0
    9. Rich Niggaz-4.15/5.0
    10. Where's Jermaine (Skit)-No Score
    11. Forbidden Fruit (Feat. Kendrick Lamar)-3.75/5.0
Easy song to vibe to, but the best part of it is the ending skit
    12. Chaining Day-3.75/5.0
    13. Ain't That Some Shit (Interlude)-3.5/5.0
    14. Crooked Smile (Feat. TLC)-4.25/5.0
    15. Let Nas Down-4.25/5.0
    16. Born Sinner (Feat. James Fauntleroy)-4.25/5.0
-Ends the album on a bright note

To be honest i like Cole's second effort a bit more than his first. Much like he said in the opening, this album is darker than his last, but it's relatable. Their are no standout tracks from this album, but it's pretty consistent all the way through and is a more focus effort than his debut. The bonus track included on the deluxe edition are some of the better tracks, but i don't usually review bonus tracks so i stuck with the "main" album here.

    Overall Score-4.01/5.0

    Kanye West-Yeezus

    1. On Sight-2.0/5.0
    2. Black Skinhead-3.0/5.0
    3. I Am A God (Feat. God [Of all people/deities])-2.75/5.0
-I'm wondering how this song had Lupe Fiasco credited as a writer. The lyrics on it is unbearable.
    4. New Slaves-3.0/5.0
-The ending part of this song is the best part of it
    5. Hold My Liquor-2.5/5.0
-Keefe really needs to get out of music, I'm not sure what Ye's fascination with Keefe is.
    6. I'm In It-3.0/5.0
    7. Blood on the Leaves-4.25/5.0
    8. Guilt Trip-3.0/5.0
    9. Send It Up-2.25/5.0
    10. Bound 2-2.5/5.0

After hearing performances of New Slaves and Black Skinhead, I was not expecting much from this album.....thus i was not disappointed, or exactly shocked. However, I am shocked by critics and their refusal to admit that even Kanye West makes bad albums. The album currently has a score of 87 at Metacritic, and critics all over are raving over the album saying that it is a great experimental album. Meanwhile Kanye West Stans defend the album by saying that people can't understand the genius of it nor will people enjoy the experimentation. No, what i can't understand is how bad the lyrics are on it nor will i enjoy the horrible beats on the album. I will be honest, i was a bit more harsh on 808's and Graduation than i should have been. But i am no means a Kanye West hater. I called My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy a masterpiece of modern Hip-Hop and the best produced Hip-Hop album i have ever heard. And this album is not getting downgraded because it is following a classic, it's just a bad album. The lyrics are atrocious and the beat selection is god awful.

Kanye has been declining lyrically in the recent years, he was outdone multiple times on Cruel Summer, and when 2 Chainz out does you on a song, you should really think about reassessing your lyrical approach. Meanwhile on New Slaves he goes on about black steroetypes when it comes to things like the way blacks dress and the cars they drive. Disclaimer: Excuse my language in this next section: Kanye, my nigga, you made the song Niggas in Paris, this is the same nigga that coined himself the LOUIS VUITTON FUCKING DON! He is the main antagonist for this issue yet he tries to preach about it while he continues to feed the exact evil that he is protesting. You can't do a switch up like that, and it's not even a switch up because he still feeds high fashion and lives an extremely lucrative lifestyle. And there is nothing wrong with it, but don't try to preach against it when you're doing it at the same time. It's like Catholic preachers going on about homosexuality when they're busy diddling little boys. In the end the album is bad, just bad. Critics really need to take the vale off of their eyes. Hopefully Ye can come back with a better showing next time around, but i won't be holding my breath with a man whose ego allowed him to call an album Yeezus.

    Overall Score-2.82/5.0

Lol, as i said, the rating system is changing a bit. I enjoyed Born Sinner, but three of the best songs were on the deluxe album.
